Time Matters Desktop Extensions UI design

LexisNexis

Time Matters 10.0 included new functionality in the form of “Desktop Extensions”. These appeared on the user’s desktop, much like gadgets in Microsoft Windows. These were created to give the user a quick way to access the information stored in Time Matters.

Several Desktop Extensions were included in the initial release; shown here are the Legal Pad, Contacts, and Phone Pad extensions.

Example of the Time Matters Legal Pad Desktop Extension, showing quick notes entered about matters, including title, brief description, and time/date stamp
Legal Pad

The Legal Pad extension allowed the user to jot down quick notes and bring them into Time Matters at a later point in time. The flyout panel (left), triggered by clicking on the “list” icon in the upper left, showed the full list of notes stored in the extension.

Example of the Time Matters Contacts Desktop Extension, showing relevant contact information including name, title, company, address, and matters related to that specific contact record
Contacts

The Contacts extension allowed the user to view and search for contacts within their Time Matters database. The flyout panel provided additional details for the contact if available, including the ability to show their location on Google Maps, and a list of related matters.

Example of the Time Matters Phone Pad Desktop Extension. Similar to the Legal Pad, this Extension relates specifically to phone messages, showing title, brief description, and time/date stamping
Phone Pad

The Phone Pad extension allowed the user to quickly enter messages and track in/outbound phone calls. The flyout panel enabled quick data entry for the record without having to launch the full application.
